Give Thanks

11.19.10
It's been an even LONGER time since I posted on this page!
The whole idea behind this page was to daily remind myself of the things I should be thankful for.  The truth is, most days I am truly thankful for the things we have.  I have more trouble being thankful for the things I have when things are not going so well. I tend to pray more often when things are bad, for God to make them better. Mostly for myself.  In reality, when I am down, or bad things happen, I need to be truly thankful for the blessings God has given us. I also need to pray for others.  This really is not all about me.  This Sunday in our not-so local newspaper, was an article that not only made me giggle, but realize: I need to be thankful before the Lord everyday, in every situation.  If you would like to read the article, click "Here".

I  have not been doing a very good job keeping this page updated now, have I?
I've been in a "blechy" mood all weekend.  When I am in those kinds of moods, it's hard to put down the things I'm thankful for.  Even though, I know it's the most important time to remember them.  So, here we go-
Today, I am thankful for: A beautiful weekend filled with good friends, great family and the perfect weather.

Today I am thankful for children who are not terminally ill.  And for a job that is flexible enough for me to stay home and take care of my sick family.  I am also thankful that my children go to a school with a dress code.  Picking out shoes was hard enough.  I cannot imagine an entire wardrobe...

8.9.10
Today I am thankful for Grandparents who love my children.

And neighbors who are willing to share the abundance from their garden.

Today, I am thankful for a pastor who is willing to talk about the "hard things" and who is also willing to walk with us, and help us through them.

And for my husband, who let me take my nap first today!
